why the western Ghats receive rainfall but the western part of India are dry although there are Aravalli mountains

Answer»

Ok, so this is how my teacher explained it to me. The western ghats and coast receive rainfall as they are in the WINDWARD side of the mountains. They receive rainfall by the South West Monsoon Winds. The Western part of India DOES NOT receive rainfall as the Aravalli Mountains are parallel to these winds. Hence , the western part of India doesn't receive much rainfall. ONE more point is that , even the Bay of BENGAL current reaches the western part of India and is blocked by the Aravalli's and it gives rainfall to the windward side WHILST the Thar desert receives no rainfall as it is situated in the leeward side of the mountains.

Industrialisation BROUGHT men, women and children to factories.

About the outbreak of the revolution

Answer»

1) The growing debt of the French government and the economic downturn because of it

2) The shap discrepency between wealth and power in society. The merchant class was gaining more and more power, making the old three class system (nobelty, church, peasants) out of date.

3) Enlightenment ideas spread by philosophers in and out of France, as well as the democratic ideals outlined by the American Revolution

4) The French government was no longer efficient enough to provide food to its subjects

5) A rebellion within the clergy was not a factor that led to the French Revolution. This is because the French Revolution was a revolt of the poorest French citizens.

6) The death of Louis XVI

7) Although France in 1785 faced economic difficulties, mostly concerning the equitability of taxation, it was one of the richest and most powerful nations of Europe. The French people also ENJOYED more political FREEDOM and a LOWER incidence of arbitrary punishment than any of their fellow Europeans. However, Louis XVI, his ministers, and the widespread French nobility had become immensely UNPOPULAR. This was a consequence of the fact that peasants and, to a lesser extent, the poor and those aspiring to be bourgeoisie, were burdened with ruinously high taxes levied to support a wealthy MONARCHY, along with aristocrats and their sumptuous, often gluttonous lifestyles

8) The harvests were very bad due to very severe cold winters.

What impact do you think the Versailles Treaty had a Germany

Answer»

Hey mate .... here's your answer...

The Treaty of VERSAILLES was the Peace Settlement between the Allies and Germany at the end of the First World War. The German authorities had little choice but to accept the terms of the Treaty presented by 'the Big Three'. This section looks at some of the implications of the terms of the Treaty of Versailles.

The Physical impact of the Treaty

The Treaty of Versailles radically altered the Geography of Europe. The Treaty had clauses that resulted in areas of LAND being taken from Germany.

The provinces of Alsace and Lorraine returned to FranceParts of Schleswig were ceded to DenmarkTo the east, new countries were created to roughly match the ethnic balance of the area‘The Polish Corridor' was created which gave the Poles a broad strip of land that connected it to the sea - and consequently separated Eastern Prussia from the rest of Germany.

It was not just in Europe that German suffered territorial losses. All of Germany's overseas colonies were annexed by the Allies, either to become colonies or areas that were managed until independence could be maintained autonomously. In total, Germany LOST over one millions square miles of land (28,000 of which had previously formed part of European Germany) and 6 million subjects.

The financial impact of the Treaty

The Treaty of Versailles blamed Germany for the First World War. As a result of this Germany was also held accountable for the cost of the war and the Treaty dictated that compensation would have to be paid to the Allies. These payments, called reparations, would be paid monthly and would total some £6,600 million.In addition, Germany had lost some of her most precious sources of Raw materials as her colonies, and some of the areas ceded to other countries, were rich sources of income. These factors would make it harder for the German economy to cope.

After effects

The Germans had faced a huge blow in terms of the financial and territorial aspects, also their sensibilities were hurt due to the dishonourable terms of the Treaty. They blamed their own government for signing such a treaty and had lost the confidence in the government.

Faced with reparation payments they could not AFFORD, Germany began printing exaggerated amounts of money. This threw Germany into a state of super inflation. Inflation reached the point where millions of marks were worthless. Cartoons of the time depicted people with wheelbarrows full of money who could not buy a loaf of bread.
