Give the reason for military revolt in the rule of rajendra bir bikram shah? |
Answer» Janga Bahadur Kunwar (Nepali: जंग बहादुर कुँवर) BEGAN the Rana dynasty. He came to power through the 1846 Kot MASSACRE (Nepali: कोत पर्व, Kot Parwa) where 36 members of the palace court including the Prime Minister and a relative of the King, Chautariya Fate Janga Shah, were murdered. King Rajendra was insulted and his trusted bodyguard was beheaded. His junior wife, Queen Rajyalakshmi, had thought that Jung Bahadur Rana would help her to ensure that her son Prince Ranendra succeeds to the throne but Jung Bahadur had made her believe so for his own motives. Queen Rajyalakshmi was enraged and started plotting to kill Jung Bahadur but the plot was revealed. Queen Rajyalakshmi and her two sons were exiled, and King Rajendra accompanied them, for pilgrimage in Varanasi. In his absence, Crown Prince Surendra was made the Prince Regent. From exile, Rajendra sought to regain power by creating and mobilizing an army, but Jung Bahadur learned of Rajendra's plans and attacked his camp in Alau. He was captured while trying to flee and FORCED him to abdicate the throne in favor of his son Surendra. Rajendra Bir Bikram Shah, thanks to his zero governance policy, his rule was weak, and it allowed the queen and other courtiers to run the show keeping the king in sidelines just like when Cersei Lannister weaved her plots in season 1 and became the character everybody LOVES to hate. The bad and absent leadership of both his grandfather Rana Bahadur Shah and Rajendra respectively allowed for the chaos that killed hundreds of political and military leaders. Unlike Rajendra, Robert was actually a great warrior and proven military leader who lead a successful rebellion to overthrow the ruling dynasty but the particular fact can be overlooked here for other lesser QUALITIES of the two men would lead to what we now know as a bitter part of our history. Fatteh Jung Shah (Chautariya), the Prime Minister known for his loyalty to the crown but killed in order of the queen in a power struggle for next kin to the throne. The way he was killed was probably not as gruesome as beheading in front of the public and putting the head on a spike. But like Ned, he gets entangled in an operation to remedy problems started by the Queen’s infidelity. For the prestige of the throne, under the order of the then King and two Princes, he heads the operations which obviously infuriates the queen later on. The queen’s illicit lover is killed but who actually ends up killing him is revealed only after it’s too late to avoid severe consequences. |

Even if poverty ratio declined between 1993-94 and 2004-05, why did the number of poor remain at about 407 million for class9 |
Answer» Pre-Independence: National Planning Committee (1936) The National Planning Committee in 1936 under Nehru has made an economic review and recognised that “there was lack of food, of clothing, of HOUSING and of every other essential requirement of human existence”. Against this assessment, the Committee declared that the development policy objective should be to “ensure an adequate standard of living for the masses, in other words, to get rid of the appalling poverty of the people”. Towards this end, the Committee defined goals for the TOTAL POPULATION in terms of nutrition (involving a balanced DIET of 2400 to 2800 calories per adult worker), clothing (30 yards per capita per annum) and housing (100 sq. ft per capita) (Ravi, 2013). Post –Independence The poverty line which divides the poor from the non-poor is got by putting a price on the minimum required consumption levels of food, clothing, shelter, fuel and health care, etc. There have been VARIOUS attempts to define poverty line in Indian context. The Expert Group recommended that the poverty line approach anchored in a calorie norm and associated with a fixed consumption basket (as recommended by the 1979 Task Force) might be continued. However, the Expert Group further recommended that the state – specific poverty lines be worked out. This was done in two steps. 1. To work out State-specific poverty line for the base year 1973–74 by taking the standardized commodity basket corresponding to the poverty line at the national level and valuing it at the prices prevailing in each state in the base year. 2. Updating the poverty line to reflect current prices in a given year by applying state-specific consumer price indices. |

How was the history of nationalism in britain unlike the rest of europe in short? |
Answer» History of Nationalism in Britain: Before the 18th century, different ETHNIC groups of people were there in the British Isles, such as English, Welsh, Scot and Irish. Each of these ethnic groups had its own cultural and political traditions. Nationalism in Britain was not the result of a sudden upheaval or revolution. It was due to a long drawn process. The English nation possessed the other three nations of the islands through a steady growth in PROPERTY, wealth and power. Besides this, the English language, British Flag and NATIONAL Anthem were promoted as national symbols to identify the nationality of the nation. The British Parliament became the Chief instrument to curb the power of the MONARCHY in 1688 through a bloodless revolution. The Act of Union (1707) between England and Scotland formed the United KINGDOM of Great Britain. I Hope the above info helps :) |
