How did Chandragupta Maurya establish the Mauryan dynasty? |
|
Answer» The Maurya Empire was founded in 322 BCE by Chandragupta Maurya, who had overthrown the Nanda Dynasty and rapidly expanded his power westward across central and western India in order to take advantage of the disruptions of local powers in the wake of the withdrawal by Alexander the Great’s armies. According to legend, the teacher Chanakya convinced his disciple, Chandragupta Maurya, to conquer the the kingdom of Magadha (the Nanda Empire) when he was insulted by its king Dhana Nanda. Chandragupta Maurya expanded the Maurya Empire north and west as he conquered the Macedonian Satrapies and won the Seleucid-Mauryan war. In its time, the Maurya Empire was one of the largest empires of the world. The Maurya Empire was a geographically extensive Iron AGE HISTORICAL power in ancient India, RULED by the Maurya dynasty from 322-185 BCE. Originating from the kingdom of Magadha in the Indo-Gangetic Plain (modern Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh) in the eastern side of the Indian subcontinent, the empire had its capital city at Pataliputra (modern Patna). The empire was the largest to have ever existed in the Indian subcontinent, spanning over 5 million square kilometres at its zenith under Ashoka. The Empire was founded in 322 BCE by Chandragupta Maurya, who had overthrown the Nanda Dynasty, and rapidly expanded his power, with Chanakya’s help, westward across central and western India. His expansion took advantage of the disruptions of local powers in the wake of the withdrawal westward by Alexander the Great’s armies. By 316 BCE, the empire had fully OCCUPIED Northwestern India, defeating and conquering the satraps left by Alexander. Chandragupta then defeated the invasion led by Seleucus I, a Macedonian general from Alexander’s army, and gained additional territory west of the Indus River. In its time, the Maurya Empire was one of the largest empires of the world. At its greatest extent, the empire stretched to the north along the natural boundaries of the Himalayas, to the east into Assam, to the west into Balochistan (southwest Pakistan and southeast Iran) and into the Hindu Kush mountains of what is now Afghanistan. The Empire was expanded into India’s central and southern regions by the emperors Chandragupta and Bindusara, but it excluded a small portion of unexplored tribal and forested regions near Kalinga (modern Odisha), until it was conquered by Ashoka. It declined for about 50 years after Ashoka’s rule ended, and it dissolved in 185 BCE with the foundation of the Shunga Dynasty in Magadha. mark as brainlister!!!! |

What are the differences between a citizen and an alien. |
|
Answer» Answer: All persons who reside within a state can be classified into two groups—citizens and aliens. There are certain things common to both. Both of them live in the state, pay taxes, obey the laws of the state and enjoy civil rights. The status of a citizen however is definitely superior to that of an alien.he A citizen enjoys political rights, e.g., the RIGHT to vote, the right to be elected, the right to hold public office and the right to be protected abroad ETC. An alien, on the contrary, does not enjoy these rights. Besides, a citizen has the right of permanent residence in the state whereas an alien does not enjoy this right. An alien may be asked to quit the country at any time, if his activities are suspected to be against the state. An alien owes allegiance to his own state alone and not to the country wherein he lives. ADVERTISEMENTS:
There are three types of aliens. 1. Resident Aliens: They ADOPT the new country as their home and usually obtain a certificate of naturalization. Such a certificate is issued after the fulfillment of certain CONDITIONS. An alien of this type becomes a naturalized citizen. 2. Temporary Residents or Travelers: ADVERTISEMENTS:
They live in foreign lands only temporarily. 3. Diplomatic Representatives : They include ambassadors, ministers, consuls, agents and the subordinate staff ATTACHED to them. Unlike other aliens, they enjoy special privileges and immunities. They are not amenable to the jurisdiction of the laws of the state wherein they are appointed. Differentiate between old and new democracy?ntiate between old and modern democracies in points |
|
Answer» The LIFE and strength of the old Democratic party was its national spirit. From its earliest history this never failed to assert itself clearly, fervently, we may say, indeed, fiercely, on every question involving the preservation, or the enlargement, or the honor and glory of the COUNTRY. In our great controversies with England, with France, with MEXICO, it was peculiarly the war party. In every minor dispute with other nations, it was always the party most, apt to plant itself on high pretentions and extreme claims. In our domestic affairs it was the party that always labored most earnestly to put down sectional discord, and to strengthen the bonds of the Union. It did not always work wisely. In many things it committed most flagrant errors. In the latter years especially it was betrayed by SOUTHERN acts and Southern threats into great follies and wrongs. Yet this old traditional character for high nationality still kept it strong in the good-will of the people. Had it gone into this war against Southern rebellion with the same whole-souled, unflinching national spirit that distinguished it in other wars, and maintained that spirit firmly till the old flag waved in triumph, it would to-day be stronger than ever, and have the assurance of a grand future. But the fact that it has proved derelict, not to say positively recreant, in the supreme crisis of the nation -- that it has become so degenerate as to cower and sink in a war which involved the very life of the nation, when it had been so indomitable in other wars which only touched the nation's pride or material interests -- that, instead of seeking, as of old, to vindicate the SUPREMACY of the constitution, it has gone for making terms with the most malignant and foulest of all possible rebellions against that constitution, is a fact before which all of its old credit gives way to contempt, irredeemably and fatally.!¡! ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ |

Answer» In the year 1900, Belgium and the Philippines had more or less the same population, around 7 million people. By the year 2000, the population of the Western European monarchy had grown to 10 million citizens, while the South East Asian republic at the TURN of the century already counted 76 million citizens. The population of Belgium has since then EXCEEDED 11 million citizens, but it is unlikely that this number will rise to 12 million by the year 2050. The population of the Philippines on the other hand will continue to GROW to a staggering 127 million citizens by 2050, according to the demographic projections of the United Nations (UN 2013). |

Indian has a Parliamentary form of government give any four example to support this statement |
|
Answer» There are two houses in the parliamentary system of INDIA. The Upper house is called Rajya Sabha and its members STRENGTH is 250. The member of Rajya Sabha is indirectly elected by the State Assembly members. It is a permanent house. Lok Sabha is the second house we may call it as a lower house. The strength of the house is 545. Maximum members are directly elected by the people and only 2 nominated members are from Anglo Indian community. this both houses school school for making laws for the country. During the session of house the bench from government site can bring any bill and there will be discussion on it. It may be passed by voice vote or by division of house. After that it will go to the next house and the other procedures are equal. Therefore only the Parliament can make the law for the country. If people are not satisfied with the working of PRESIDENT, Chief Justice of India can be removed from the post buy a process of impeachment. Therefore it is only the power of parliament not of executive. The total income and expenditure of country in the FORM of budget is placed in the parliament for discussion and approval. No executive has power to pass the money bill this is the power only with parliament. |
