Essay on urban livelihood. |
Answer» Answer: Urban society is characterized by a SHARP economic disparity between a small number of wealthy families and a large number of petty traders, artisans and the poor. Urban planning is, therefore, necessary to reduce this disparity. Urban, city or town planning deals with the design of the built environment from the municipal or the metropolitan PERSPECTIVE. It is also concerned with the smaller scale of development in the city or town including architecture and urban design. The Greek Hippodamus is often considered the Father of City Planning for his design of the city called Melitus, though examples of CITIES permeate antiquity. In India, people built planned cities right from the ages of the Harappan culture. But all these cities of antiquity were based on agricultural income and were built mostly because of the rise in population. Gradually, the nature of settlements or urban centres underwent a qualitative change, a transition from a locally focused, isolated, economically and socially self-contained, and basically agricultural community to global, economically and socially dynamic and basically industrial or service-oriented community.
Today’s urban centres are the BASIS of economic activities. People mostly migrate to these centres to earn their livelihood. Among the migrants, some settle down and some others move on to larger cities or towns in search of better opportunities. To improve the economic and physical infrastructure and also to provide essential services and facilities to the existing and forthcoming population, planning is essential. Planning is also required to condense the load of larger cities or towns including metropolitan areas as it is observed that people usually migrate from rural areas to small urban centres, from small and medium towns to larger cities or metropolitan centres in search of livelihood. This can be done by providing similar employment opportunities and STANDARD of living in the smaller towns and cities. SUPPORT ME FOR MORE |

Information on indo -gangetic plainmin 2 paragraphs |
Answer» Answer: The Indo-Gangetic Plain, also known as the Indus-Ganga Plain and the North Indian River Plain, is a 630-million-acre (2.5-million km2) fertile plain encompassing northern REGIONS of the Indian subcontinent, including most of northern and EASTERN India, the eastern parts of Pakistan, virtually all of Bangladesh and southern plains of NEPAL.[1] The region is named after the Indus and the Ganges RIVERS and encompasses a number of large urban areas. The plain is bound on the north by the Himalayas, which feed its numerous rivers and are the source of the fertile alluvium deposited across the region by the two river systems. The southern edge of the plain is marked by the Chota Nagpur Plateau. On the west rises the Iranian Plateau Explanation: The region is known for the Indus Valley Civilization, which was responsible for the birth of ancient culture of the Indian subcontinent. The flat and fertile terrain has facilitated the repeated rise and expansion of various empires, including the Magadha dynasties, Imperial Kannauj, the Mughal Empire and Maratha Empire – all of which had their demographic and political centers in the Indo-Gangetic plain. During the Vedic and Epic eras of Indian history, this region was referred to as "Aryavarta" (Land of the Aryans). According to Manusmṛti (2.22), 'Aryavarta' is "the tract between the Himalaya and the Vindhya ranges, from the Eastern Sea (Bay of Bengal) to the Western Sea (Arabian Sea)".[2][3] The region is referred to as "Hindustan" (Land of the Indus), deriving from the Persian term for the Indus River. This term was later used to refer to the whole of the Indian subcontinent. The term "Hindustani" is also used to refer to the people, music, and culture of the region. The Indus-Ganga Plain is divided into two drainage basins by the Delhi Ridge; the western part drains to the Indus, and the eastern part consists of the Ganga–Brahmaputra drainage systems. This divide is only 350 metres above sea level, causing the perception that the Indus-Ganga Plain appears to be continuous from Sindh in the west to Bengal and Assam in the east. A thin strip between the foothills of the Himalayas and the plain, the Bhabar is a region of porous ground consisting of boulders and pebbles that have washed down from the mountains. It is not suitable for crops and is forested. The streams disappear underground here.[6][better source needed] Below the Bhabar lie the grasslands of Terai and Dooars.[7] The many tributaries of the Indus and Ganges divide the plain into doabs, tongues of land that EXTEND to where the tributaries meet. Close to the rivers is khadar land of new alluvium that is subject to flooding. Above the flood limit, bangar land is older alluvium deposited in the middle Pleistocene. Hope this Helps!! |

What is the supreme law of the land? |
Answer» If you are asking about the United States, the answer is that the supreme law of the land is the Constitution of the United States. This is laid out in ARTICLE VI of the Constitution itself. Part of that article says that This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof … shall be the supreme Law of the Land… What this MEANS is that no law made by any state, or even by the CONGRESS of the United States, can CONTRADICT the Constitution. This is why the Supreme Court of the United States is able to overturn laws by declaring them to be unconstitutional. Those laws are, the Court says, CONTRARY to the Constitution. Since the Constitution is the supreme law of the land, those laws cannot be valid and must be overturned. So, the Constitution of the United States is the supreme law of the land, meaning that no law can be legal if it contradicts what the Constitution says. |

What is Mayamara ?What is sattra ?What is songhoti ? |
Answer» Explanation: While Mayamara is used to indicate the religious sect, Matak is used to denote the people who follow the Mayamara sect of Neo- vaishnavism. The popular explanation of the meaning of Matak is very interesting – i.e., people of one (EK) opinion or principle (MAT), and gradually Matek word has evolved into Matak. Satras (Assamese: সত্ৰ) are institutional centers that are unique and special to the Ekasarana tradition. Numbering in the hundreds, these centers are generally independent of each other and under the control of individual adhikaras (or satradhikars), though they can be grouped into four different Sanghatis (orders). These centers, in the minimum, maintain a prayer house (Namghar), initiate lay people into the Ekasarana tradition and include them as disciples of the Satra from whom TAXES and other religious duties are extracted. The mushrooming of Satras in the 17th century and patronage extended to them by first the Koch kingdom and LATER the Ahom kingdom was crucial in the spread the Ekasarana RELIGION. Many of the larger Satras house hundreds of celibate and non-celibate bhakats (monks), hold vast lands and are repositories of religious and cultural relics and artifacts. The Satras extend control over their lay disciples via village Namghars. |

What do you understand by social change? 500 words |
Answer» Answer: SOCIAL CHANGE Explanation: ________________________________ Change is a process. Change denotes any alternation, difference or modification that takes place in a situation or in any object through time. It is the universal law of nature. It refers to the difference that exists between the past and the present situation. Change is an “on-going” process, No society remains completely static. Society is subject to constant changes. The term social change refers to changes taking place in human society. Basically the changes in human inter-actions and inter relations, indicate social change. Society is the net-work of social relationship. Hence, social change obviously implies a change in the system of social relationship. So any difference or any modification or transformation in the established pattern of human interaction and standards of conduct amounts to change. Abolition of child marriage, inter-caste marriage, high status to Indian women is some of the important instances of social change. Definitions: The meaning of the term “Social Change” can be better understood if we will discuss few definitions formulated by the eminent sociologists. Some of the important definitions are stated below:- Kingsley Davis, “By Social change is meant only such alterations as occur in social organizations, that is, STRUCTURE and functions of society.” Maclver and Page, “Social change refers to a process responsive to many types of changes, to changes in man-made conditions of life” to changes in the attitude and beliefs of men and to changes that go beyond the human control to the biological and physical nature of things. Lundberg, “Social change refers to any modifications in the established patterns of inter-human relationship and standard of conduct.” H.T. Mazumdar, “Social change may be defined as a new fashion or mode, either modifying or replacing the old, in the life of people or in the operation of society.” Morris Ginsberg, “By social change I understand a change in social structure, i.e. the size of a society, the COMPOSITION or balance of its parts or the type of its organisation.” Gillin and Gillin, “Social changes are variations from the accepted modes of life; whether due to alternation in geographical conditions, in cultural equipments, composition of the population or ideologies whether brought about by diffusion or inventions within the group. Alvin Toffler, “Change is the process through which future invades our life.” M.E. Jones, “Social change is a term used to describe variations in, or modifications of, any aspect of social process, social patterns, social interaction or social organisations.” From the above definitions it may be concluded that social change is: (i) A process. (ii) It is a change in social organisation, that is the structure and functions of society. (iii) Social change means human change, which takes place in the life patterns of the people. Basically it refers to the change in social relationship. (iv) It refers to all historical variations in human societies. It means changes in all fundamental relations of man to man. Which includes changes in POLITICAL institutions, class structure, economic systems, mores and modes of living. From the analysis of the above definitions we come to know that the phenomenon of social change is not simple but complex. It is very vast and a complicated process. It is a process in which we always face PROBLEMS in its conditions, forms, limitations, direction, sources, causes as well as consequences. But it would be worthwhile to analyse the nature of social change for clear understanding. Read more on Brainly.in - brainly.in/question/2749442#readmore |

Write 1000 words about history of indian currency |
Answer» Answer: The Indian Rupee (sign: ₹; code: INR) is the official currency of India. The rupee is subdivided into 100 paise (singular paisa), though as of 2018, coins of denomination of 50 paise or half rupee is the lowest value in use. The issuance of the currency is controlled by the Reserve Bank of India.[3] The Reserve Bank manages currency in India and derives its ROLE in currency management on the basis of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. In 2012, a new rupee symbol '₹', was officially adopted. It was designed by D. Udaya Kumar. It was derived from the combination of the Devanagari consonant "र" (ra) and the Latin capital letter "R" without its vertical bar (similar to the R rotunda). The parallel lines at the top (with white space between them) are said to make an allusion to the tricolour Indian flag,[4] and ALSO depict an equality sign that symbolises the nation's DESIRE to reduce economic disparity. The first series of coins with the new rupee symbol started in circulation on 8 July 2011. Before this India used to use Rs for plural and Re to depict one rupee. On 8 November 2016 the Government of India announced the DEMONETISATION of ₹500 and ₹1000 banknotes[5][6] with effect from midnight of the same day, making these notes invalid.[7] A newly redesigned series of ₹500 banknote, in addition to a new denomination of ₹2000 banknote is in circulation since 10 November 2016.[8][9] ₹1000 has been suspended |

100 word paragraph about humanity |
Answer» Explanation: Humanity can be defined as quality of being human; the peculiar NATURE of man, by which he is distinguished from other beings. Being human does not mean that an individual possesses humanity. If you want to understand the quality of humanity in an individual take note of what he does for people who give noting back in return to the favour they have offered. One of the most outstanding examples of extra- ordinary humanity in a human being has been portrayed beautifully by Mother Teresa. Humanity means caring for and helping others WHENEVER and wherever possible. Humanity means helping others at times when they need that help the most, humanity means forgetting your selfish interests at times when others need your help.
Humanity means extending unconditional love to each and every living being on Earth. A perfect example of humanity can be demonstrated by the following story. A king with a kind heart once saw a pigeon and an Eagle fighting. He possessed the ability of communicating with the birds and animals. The pigeon asked the king to save him from the eagle. The king told the eagle that he is ready to pay any price in return for saving the pigeon. The eagle asks the king to give him the equal AMOUNT of flesh to the weight of the flesh of the pigeon. Agreeing to the Eagle’s condition, the king starts chopping off his own flesh equal to the flesh of the pigeon. After donating a LITTLE bit of his flesh, he still finds the pigeon heavier. Finally he surrenders the whole of himself to the Eagle to eat. That is the moment when both the Eagle and the pigeon turn into angels who appeared on the earth to test the extent of the king’s humanity. The king is now rewarded with the most precious rewards and heaven after life for his deed of humanity. |
