|
Answer» Thank you so much whoever has answered Apartheid is the system of racial discrimination against south African black people by European White people . What were the reasons for the russian revolution? |
| Answer» Main causes were:Autocratic rule of Tsars:\xa0In 1914, the Russian emperor was Tsar Nicholas II. He fought a number of wars to expand his empire in the north and west in Europe. He had borne the expenditure of war by taxing the common people of Russia.Conditions of peasants:\xa0Majority of the Russians were agriculturalists. Major part of the land was owned by nobles and clergy and these peasants worked as farmers on daily wages. They were paid less and worked more and sometimes under debt, they were not even paid wages.Status of industries:\xa0Industry was found in pockets. Prominent industrial areas were St. Petersburg and Moscow. Craftsmen undertook much of the production, but large factories existed alongside crafts workshops. Foreign investment in industries increased with the extension of Russia’s railway network.Conditions of workers in the industries:\xa0Most industries were owned by privateindustrialists. Though the government supervised factories’ working hours and wages of the workers, but still rules were broken. Women workers were also paid less than men. Some workers formed associations to help members in times of unemployment and financial hardships. ,Formation of socialist parties:\xa0All political parties were illegal in Russia before 1914. The Russian Social Democratic Workers Party was founded in 1898 by socialists, who respected Marxist ideas. But because of government policies, it had to operate secretly as an illegal organisation. It set up a newspaper, mobilised workers and organised strikes. | |

About climarTe |
| Answer» Climate\xa0refers to the sum total of weather conditions and variations over a large area for a long period of time (more than thirty years).Weather\xa0refers to the state of the atmosphere over an area at any point of time. The elements of weather and climate are the same, i.e. temperature, atmospheric pressure, wind, humidity and precipitation. On the basis of the monthly atmospheric conditions, the year is divided into seasons such as:\tWinter\tSummer\tRainy SeasonsClimatic ControlsThe climate of any place depends on the following factors:1) LatitudeThe amount of solar energy received varies according to latitude due to the curvature of the earth. That’s why air temperature generally decreases from the equator towards the poles.2) AltitudeThe atmosphere becomes less dense and temperature decreases when we go to the higher altitude from the earth surface. This is the reason why hills are cooler during summers.3) Pressure and wind systemThe pressure and wind system of any area depends on the latitude and altitude of the place. It influences the temperature and rainfall pattern.4) Distance from the seaThe sea exerts a moderating influence on the climate. As the distance from the sea increases, its moderating influence decreases and people experience extreme weather conditions. This condition is known as\xa0continentality\xa0i.e. very hot during summers and very cold during winters.5) Ocean currentsOcean currents along with onshore winds affect the climate of the coastal areas. For example, any coastal area with warm or cold currents flowing past it, will be warmed or cooled if the winds are onshore.6) Relief featuresRelief plays a major role in determining the climate of a place. High mountains act as barriers for cold or hot winds. They may also cause precipitation if they are high enough and lie in the path of rain-bearing winds. Precipitation is any form of moisture which falls to the earth. It includes rain, snow, hail and sleet.Factors Affecting India’s Climate | |

Assess the role of French philosophers in the French revolution of 1789 |
| Answer» Role of the Philosophers in the French RevolutionFrance in the 18th\xa0century had many revolutionary thinkers. Among them were Voltaire, Rousseau, Montesquieu and Diderot. Their revolutionary ideas encouraged people to fight for their rights. They exposed the inefficiency of the monarch and his government and aroused the people to challenge authority.Voltaire attacked the Catholic Church. He believed man\'s destiny was in his own hands and not in heaven. His ideas encouraged people to fight against the privileges, and dominance of the Church without guilt.John Locke propounded the ideas refuting divinity and absolute rights of monarchs.Montesquieu\'s philosophy outlined constitutional monarchy and division of powers. He believed all powers should not be concentrated in one person\'s hand.Rousseau asserted the doctrine of democracy and popular sovereignty. He believed that government should be based on the consent of the governed. In his book Social Contract, he talks of a contract between the ruler and the ruled. Implied in his writings was the belief that men had the right to change their government, if they were not satisfied. Thus the ideas of the philosophers were a direct attack on privileges and feudal rights which protected the upper classes. They helped rouse the people from inactivity and instilled in them a desire to root out social inequalities and set up a government responsive to their need. They played a vital role in focusing the discontent and bringing about the Revolution. | |
