do you think that commercial farming is important in modern day agricultural system? give reasons with examples. |
Answer» When farmers grow crops and rear animals for economic activity, it becomes Commercial Farming. Due to the need for ahigh amount of output, farmers cultivate larger areas of land, with heavy use of machinery. Commercial Farming has three main categories: Commercial grain farming– Just as the name suggests, in this method, farmers grow grains and trade them in the market. Wheat and maize are the most common crops of commercial grain farming. Farmers of Asia, Europe, temperate grasslands of North America generally practice this type of farming. Plantation farming– Plantation farming is a mix of agriculture and industry and is practised across a vast area of land. Plantation owners usually grow a single crop like banana, coffee, tea etc. in a plantation and use technological support to process the crop on the farm itself or a factory attached to it. The end product also works as a raw material for industries. For example, the rubber industry uses the rubber produced from its plantation as raw material. |

Place Derule IIC SEVILLUIAsia and one from the Americas.Explain how the global transfer of disease in the pre-modern worldhelped in the colonisation of the Americas.Cubo following: |
Answer» The global transfer of disease in the pre-modern world helped in the colonisation of the Americas because the native American Indians were not immune to the diseases that the settlers and colonisers brought with them. The Europeans were more or less immune to small pox, but the native Americans, having been cut off from the rest of the world for millions of years, had no defence against it. These germs killed and wiped out whole communities, paving the way for foreign domination. Weapons and soldiers could be destroyed or captured, but diseases could not be fought against. |

what are the political aspect of MNC,S |
Answer» Recently much attention has been focused on the influence that multinational corporations (MNCs) have on the politics of developing countries. Even setting aside past legacies of sinister corporate conduct, most students of politics agree that MNCs are potentially important actors--for better or for worse--in a country's political development because they can influence the rate, direction, and beneficiaries of change. Most case studies begin with the assumption that the political impact resulting from the presence of MNCs in developing countries is primarily a function of the international economic system. However, all but one of the books under review focus on the domestic political system in individual host countries as the independent variable rather than on the international economic system. |

why are some people cute and some people ugly? |
Answer» Scientists say they have discovered why some people are good looking while others turn out ugly. A 10-year study has revealed that some people have less efficient 'repair kits' in their DNA. Charles Darwin's theories of evolution say attractive females should select the more attractive males and good genes should spread through the population over time to the point where males all become equally good-looking. The fact that all men aren't hunks like Brad Pitt or George Clooney is used by opponents of evolution as an argument that Darwin's theories are fundamentally flawed. But now a team of researchers at Newcastle University has found a way of explaining the so called 'lek paradox.' Research published by Professor Marion Petrie and Dr Gilbert Roberts explains why the human race isn't uniformly gorgeous. Professor Petrie said: "It's much easier to think of it in terms of peacocks. "You have a system in peacocks where males go around looking attractive and those that have the biggest and best tails get the most attractive females. "Evolution would suggest that over time all peacocks would look the same because those good genes would spread through the population. "But that doesn't happen and instead you get generation after generation with big tails and short tails, the choice doesn't disappear. "What we've done is come up with a theoretical explanation for that." Professor Petrie says that since mutations can occur anywhere in an animal's genetic make-up, some will affect the DNA repair kit possessed by all cells. As a result, some individuals have less efficient repair kits, resulting in greater variation in their DNA as damage goes unrepaired. Using a computer model to map the spread of genes in a population, Professor Petrie demonstrated DNA mutations outweigh the effects of sexual selection. Professor Petrie and colleagues have shown that men with better genes for fighting off disease - and therefore better prospects of passing disease resistance to their offspring - had a number of physical features which women found attractive. The research involved testing men for genetic diversity and showing photographs of them to women, who allocated scores for attractiveness. These scores were found to correlate strongly to genetic diversity. |

3.What are the different literaturesthat help in the study of history? |
Answer» Great novels (at least those that were popular at the time), set in the period in which they were written, tell us a lot about how people thought and lived. Sometimes it is the absence of things that we might assume would be mentioned, because they were taken for granted. My “view” of the 19th century is surely influenced as much by Jane Austen, Thackeray, Dickens, Trollope as by any formal history, just as H.G.Wells does for that elusive period before the first World War. And to be more “modern”, there is a lived record of Academic life and its absurdities in the second half of the 20th century in the novels of Bradbury or Lodge. They are not “the truth”. but they tell you lots about how people thought about the worlds they lived in |
