sliding friction is LESS than STATIC frictionExplanation:this is because , static friction is greater than kinematic friction.static friction acts when body is in rest.and so LARGER force is required to overcome that.once it is overcome, sliding or say kinematic friction COMES in to action.so, only less force is NEEDED just to maintain the motion.please let me know if you were able to understand it or not
