19. Write two points of differences between sexual reproduction and asexual reproduciowhy variations are observed in the offspring formed by sexual reproduction

Answer»
Ans :-

The differences between sexual and asexual reproduction are following.1.in sexual reproduction two parents are involved but in sexual reproduction only one parent is involved .

2.sex cells or gametes are involved in sexual reproduction but no cells are involved in asexual reproduction.

3.in sexual reproduction the young ones are not exactly copy of the parent but in asexual reproduction young ones are exact copy of the parent.

During sexual reproduction two different parent i.e. male and female take part as a result of which the newly formed zygote possess genetic material of both parents. It leads to interchange of genetic information between two gametes which is passed to the progeny and develops variation. Offsprings produced as a result of sexual reproduction are genetically different from the parents due to the process of meiosis, during which crossing over takes place which creates recombination.
