Answer» Looking at the chemical ‘formula’ we see that hydrogen peroxide is a molecule with one hydrogen atom and three oxygen atoms. That means that the atomic bond is weakened because H2O is much more stable and hold together than H3O. Adding energy in the form of “light” which is really photons which carry energy breaks the bond with the extra oxygen atom and sets it free. So each H3O molecule reverts back to H2O plus one free oxygen atom. |
