Answer» Wurtz reaction is used to obtain even numbered alkane from alkyl halide. The reaction between alkail halide (dissolved in dry ether) and sodium metal is Wurtz reaction.Alkane and sodium halide is the product of this reaction.Alkane having odd number of carbon atom can't be produced through this reactio.
