1.

3(x^2-6)=x(x+7)-3 solve by factorization method

Answer»

EXPLANATION

  • GIVEN

3(x^2 - 6 ) = x(x + 7 ) - 3

SOLVE BY FACTORISATION METHOD.

3(x^2 - 6 ) = x ( x + 7 ) - 3

3x^2 - 18 = x^2 + 7x - 3

3x^2 - x^2 -7x -18 +3 = 0

2x^2 - 7x -15 = 0

FACTORISE INTO MIDDLE TERM SPLITS.

2x^2 - 10x + 3x - 15 = 0

2x ( x - 5) + 3 (x - 5 ) = 0

(2x + 3) (x - 5 ) = 0

Therefore,

x = -3/2 and x = 5
