4. Write differences between friction and gravity |

Answer» (i) Friction is the force that opposes the sliding motion. Gravity is the natural force exerted between two objects, drawing them toward each other. (ii) Gravity always pulls objects. Friction, however, doesn’t pull objects down. (iii) Unlike gravity, friction doesn’t rely on a natural force. Instead, friction occurs when something like a machine or individual pulls a sliding object in the opposite direction of another object. (iv) Friction always acts parallel to the surface in contact because of the sliding action. Gravity acts perpendicular downwards. |
