LET the parts be 8X and 7x

Then, 8x+7x = length of the ruler

That is, 15x = 30cm

That is, X= 30/15cm = 2cm

We have x = 2cm

so, the parts of the ruler = 8×2cm and 7×2cm

That is, parts of the ruler = 16cm and 14CM

Hence, the parts of the ruler are 16cm and 14cm
