Examples are furacine, soframine, etc. Disinfectants are appliedto inanimate objects such as floors,drainage system, INSTRUMENTS etc. samesubstance can act as an antispetic as well as disinfectant byvaryingthe concentration. For EXAMPLE, 0.2 per cent solution of phenol is an antisepticwhileits one pre cent solution is disnfiectant. (b) Iodine is a powerfull antispetic . Its 2-3 per cent solution in alcohol-watermixture is known as tincture of iodine. It is appliedon WOUNDS. Iodoform is also an ANTISEPTIC for wounds.
