A few wires of same dimension but of different specific resistances are connected in parallel and than this parallel combination is connected to a battery . In which wire will the rate of production of heat due to Joule effect be maximum? |
|
Answer» Solution :As the wires are connected in parallel , so potential difference across each wire will be same . HEAT produced , `H+(V^(2)t)/(RJ)=(V^(2)t)/(J.rho(l)/(A))` As each wire is of same dimension , the RATE of production of heat will be maximum in wire , whose SPECIFIC resistance is minimum. |
