a) The peak voltage of an a.c. supply is 300 V. What is the rms voltage ? (b) The rms value of current in an a.c. circuit is 10 A. What is the peak current ?

Answer»

Solution :(a) `therefore V_(m) = 300 V`, HENCE `V_(rms) = V_(m)/sqrt(2) = 300/sqrt(2) = 212.1` V
(b) As `I_(rms) = 10A`, hence `I_(m) = sqrt(2). I_(rms) = sqrt(2) xx 10 = 14.14 A = 14.1` A
