1.

All energetically effective collision do not result in a chemical change.Explain with the help of an example.

Answer»

Solution :For formation of product by chemical REACTION molecule must experience fruitful COLLISION.The fruitful collision in which MOLECULES have (i)Sufficient kinetic energy (Threshold energy ) (ii)Proper orientation. If the molecules have sufficient kinetic energy but proper orientation is not than product will not from . eg. In the product of methanol from bromomethane ,if proper collision is there between methyl bromide and `OH^(-)` then only the product will form .
product will not form as -vely charged `Br^(-)` and `overset(-)OH` both repeal each other .
`CH_(3)Br` and `overset(-)OH` does bnot have proper orientation.

Product will form because negatively charged `Ooverset(-)H` i behind of `Br^(-)` opposite direction so it collide with carbon having `+delta` charge and form information when proper energy and proper direction is there the collision convert into the product .
