Answer»

Given :- ALLEN and annie travel at x m /s and y m /s respectively. if the distance covered by both of them is the same , what is the ratio of the time TAKEN by allen to that of annie ?

Solution :-

LET us assume that, distance covered by them is D m .

so,

→ Allen speed = x m/s

→ Distance = D m

→ Time = D/S = D/x m/s

and,

→ Annie speed = y m/s

→ Distance = D m

→ Time = D/S = D/y m/s

then,

→ Time ratio = D/x : D/y = Dy : Dx /xy = y : x (Ans.)

therefore, we can conclude that,

  • when Distance is constant speed is inversely proportional to time .
