Answer» Thecarbonylcarbon in ketones and aldehydes is more electrophilic than incarboxylic acids.This is because the lone pairs on oxygen atom attached to hydrogen atom in the -COOHgroupare involved in resonance thereby making the carbon atom less electrophilic.
