ANSWER:

CBSE announces a Creative and Critical Thinking (CCT) Weekly Practice

Programme to enhance critical and creative thinking and to GENERATE curiosity in

students by connecting learning with real life situations. CCT Practice also aims to

empower teachers to :

a. Ask questions in classrooms which are connected to real life to build curiosity in

students

b. Facilitate discussions amongst students to build the skills of collaboration and

problem solving

c. Engage parents and the COMMUNITY at large in student’s learning process

2. Through this programme, CBSE would share a set of 5 questions every week (5 QAW)

for the use of teachers as well as students. These questions are not necessarily related

to the syllabus at hand. However, they are connected to the overall learning of students

in classes 7th to 10th. These may be attempted by students of Class 7th to 10th and can

be used in the following ways by the teachers:

a. To Engage Students - The teacher can use these questions at the beginning of

a class to make students curious about the topic that will be taught in class or

has already been taught in class and to engage them in discussions.

b. Independent Work for Students- Students can be asked to attempt these

questions as homework in consultation with their friends and family. The

solutions can be discussed the next day or at the end of the week as per the

convenience of the teachers in a way that it promotes discussion

c. Activities during the No Bag Day/Zero Period/Activity Hour etc.- These

questions can be used in the form of an activity on the No Bag Day or a special

period like the Activity Hour or Zero Period where the teachers make the

students COLLABORATE with each other to solve the problems.

d. Any other method the teacher chooses to use.
