Comment on the significance of a link language' in the Indian context. |

Answer» English is considered to be the link language in India . The main reason for this is India consists a large number of languages and other regional dialects . As an interlink between the people speaking different languages English is used as the interlinking language . The question arises why English and not other languages like wise even though India has Hindi as a majority language . One main reason is that making Hindi or any other language except English will cause the people to put forward their views to make their regional language as interlink language in India. Which finally leads to civil was. Second reason is because when British was ruling the country all the files, documents, records , rules everything was in English . After India got it's Independence India could not afford to change all the document and files to other language and also to understand all of them India kept it in English and modified , developed in English itself . |
