Answer» Solution :Acetyl chloride in the presence of ANHYDROUS `AlCl_(3)` : When chlorobenzence is reacted with acetyl chloride in the presence of anhydrous `AlCl_(3), `a mixture of 2-chloro ACETOPHENONE and 4-chloro acetophenone (major product ) is formed. Since, the acetyl group is introduced in the benzence RING, the reaction is termed as FRIEDEL Crafts acylation.
