Define conductance and conductivity. Or. Define electrical conductivity of a conductor and give its S.I. unit. |
|
Answer» SOLUTION :Conductance. The reciprocal of resistance is called conductance. It is denoted by G and its unit in S.I. is `OHM^(-1)(Omega^(-1))` or mho or siemen (S). And `G=(1)/(R)` CONDUCTIVITY. The conductivity is reciprocal of resistivity and it measure the ease with which the current FLOWS through a conductor. it is denoted by `SIGMA`. And `sigma=(1)/(rho)` The unit of `sigma` is `Omega^(-1) or Sm^(-1)`. |
