Define hypertonic solution |

Answer» If the medium has a lower concentration of water than the cell, if it is a very concentrated solution , the cell will lose water by osmosis. Such a concentrated solution is called hypertonic solution When the medium (solution )surrounding the cell has low water concentration than in the cell,there is shrinkage in the components of cell. This type of solution is called as hypertonic solution. |
