Answer»

Solution :(a) An element can be defined as a pure substance in which a molecule is made up of only one KIND of atom and which cannot be split into simpler SUBSTANCES by any CHEMICAL means.
(b) A compound can be defined as a pure substances in which a molecule is made up of more than one kind of atom and can be split up into two or more simpler substances.
(c) A homogeneous mixture can be defined as a substance in whcih there is uniform distribution of molecule of different substance.
(d) A heterogeneous mixture can be defined as a substance in which there is non-uniform distribution of different kinds of molecules in the substance.
(e) METALLOIDS are the elemetns which possess some properties of METALS and some properties of non-metals.
(f) Noble gases are gaseous elemetns which do not take part in chemical reactions with any other elements.
