Solution :
(i) Activation ENERGY : Energy required to form the intermediate called activated complex during a reaction, is KNOWN as activation energy. This is explained with the help of the given figure.
(ii) Rate CONSTANT : It is the rate of the reaction when the concentration of the species involved is unity.
Rate `=K[A]^(x)[B]^(y)`
When [A] = [B] = 1, we have Rate= k
Hence the above definition.
