Derive the integrated rate equation for rate constant of Zero order reaction.

Answer»

<P>

Solution :Consider a ZERO reaction `R rarr P`
RATE `= K[R]^(0)`
Rate `= K xx 1` where K = rate
constant (or) velocity constant.
Rate `= (-d[R])/(dt)`
`(-d[R])/(dt) = K rArr d[R] = -K dt`
`int d[R] = -K. int d t`
`[R] = -Kt + 1`
I = integration constant
To find I, when t = 0, `[R] = [R_(0)]`
`[R_(0)] = -k xx 0 + 1`
`I = [R_(0)]`
Substituting in eq. (1)
`[R] = -kt + [R_(0)]`
`K = [R_(0)] - [R]//t`
