Answer» Solution :(i) For hexagonal UNIT cell, `a=bnec, alpha=beta=90^(@), gamma=120^(@)`. For MONOCLINIC unit cell, `anebnec, alpha=gamma=90^(@), beta=120^(@)`. (ii) FACE-centred unit cell has particles located at the CORNERS and at the centre of each face. End-face centred unit cell has particles located at the corners and at the centre of any two opposite faces (instead of six faces in face-centred unit cell). |
