Solution :Adsorption is a PHENOMENON in which there is higher concentration of another substance on the surface than in the bulk. Absorption is a phenomenon in which the molecules of a substance are uniformly DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT the body of the other substance. For example, silica gel adsorbs water vapour while anhydrous calcium chloride absorbs water.
