Qualities required to become an efficient leader in management are as follows : 

•  Sound Health: 

A successful leader must possess sound health and a good physique. It is rightly said that a sound mind resides in a sound body. Hence, a leader should have sound health and good stamina to work hard. 

• Sharp Intelligence : 

A leader must possess the mental ability to analyse the problem and offer its solution immediately. He should be mentally alert and competent enough to tackle the problems.

•  Self confidence and Will power : 

A good leader should have self confidence. He should be fully confident of his actions and decisions. No faith, hope, aspirations, etc. can be transformed into realities without courage and will power. 

•  Sound Character : 

The character, behaviour, actions of a leader is always a source of inspiration to others. If the leader has weak character, he will not be able to inspire and influence others. 

• Capacity to take Stable Decisions : 

A good leader has outstanding decision-making power. A leader has to choose the best among available alternatives, keeping in mind the present and future situations. 

•  Team Spirit : 

For a leader, the group interest should always supersede an individual’s personal interest. He should always lay emphasis on subordination. If he sacrifices group interest for personal interest, he can never be judged as a good leader. 

•  Sense of Responsibility : 

A leader must have a sense of taking up responsibilities and to fulfill them sincerely. One who avoids responsibilities can never became an efficient leader. 

• Sociable, Tactful and Having Sense of Humour : 

A leader should be sociable. He should have feelings of cooperation, team spirit and harmony. A leader should be tactful in dealing with people and situations. He should have a sense of humour. 

•  Ability and Tolerance : 

An effective leader must have ability and tolerance. He should have good stamina and be agile to complete the task quickly. A leader with strong tolerance quality makes more friends.
