Answer» PoE (Power on Ethernet) GENERALLY refers to a TECHNOLOGY that allows ELECTRIC power to be carried over the Ethernet cable that carries data. It passes the electric power SUPPLY to the network through the cable rather than the power cords and MINIMIZES the number of wires required to install the network.
