Answer» In the pulmonary circulation (or route) the blood leaves the right ventricle of the heart through the pulmonary artery (trunk), carrying deoxygenated blood to the lungs through its left and right branches. After oxygenation of this blood in the lungs it is carried back into the left atrium or auricle through the left and right pulmonary veins.
