Solution :Both jmanaganate and permanganate ions are tetrahedral in shape

The `pi-`bonding takes place by overlapping of p-orbitals of oxygen with d-orbitlas of manganese in both permanganate and manganate ions. Hence, there is `DPI - p pi`-bonding.
The green manganate is permanganatic because of PRESENCE of one unpaired electron while PURPLE permanganate is diamagnetic DUE to absence of unpaired electron
