1.	Explain Swern oxidation.
Answer» Solution :(i) In Swern oxidation method, DIMETHYL sulfoxide (DMSO) is USED as the oxidising AGENT and it converts alcohols to ketones / aldehydes. (ii) When propan-2-ol is TREATED with DMSO and oxalyl chloride followed by the addition of TRIETHYLAMINE, it produces Propanone.
