Explain the following : 1) What happens when iron filings are added to zinc sulphate solution? 2) What happens when solid silver nitrate is added to solid sodium chloride? |
|
Answer» 1) No reaction takes place because zinc is more reactive than iron. So iron cannot displace zinc from its salt solution. 2) No reaction takes place because in solid state silver nitrate as well as sodium chloride is unable to dissociate into constituent ions. So exchange of ions is not possible. |
