Explain the kinetics of zero order reaction. |
|
Answer» SOLUTION :In case of zero ORDER reaction, the rate of the reaction is independent of CONCENTRATION of the reactiant. For a reaction, `A rarr B` By rate law, Rate, `R=k[A]^(@)=k` where k is a rate constant. (1) The rate of the reaction remains constant even if the concentra- tion of the reactant decreases until reaction is complete. (2) The half-life of the reaction depends directly on the initial concentration of the reactant, `[A_(0)]` and given by `t_(1//2)=([A_(0)])/(2k).` |
