Answer» Solution :When a SOLID ADSORBENT is placed in a CLOSED vessel containing some gas or a solution. The molecules of the gas or the solute are adsorbed on the SURFACE so that their CONCENTRATION or higher on the surface. Hence, it is called a surface phenomenon.
