Answer» Solution :Working of a.metre bridge is based on the principle of Wheatstone.s bridge in which 4 resistances P, Q, R and SALONG with a cell e and galvanometer G are connected as shown. VALUE of four resistances are so adjusted that galvanometer gives no deflection even where kays `K_(1) and K_(2)` are PLUGGED. In such a situation `P/Q=R/S` Thus, knowing, values of P, Q and R. we can find the value of unknown resistance by using the formula `S=(QR)/(P)`.
