Solution :SCHOTTKY defect :

This type of defect is created when one positive ion and one negative ion are MISSING from their respective positions LEAVING behind a pair of holes. Schottky defects are more common in ionic compounds with high co-ordination number, when the SIZE of (+)ve and (-)ve ions are ALMOST equal. Examples : NaCl, KCl.
