Explain the term thermosetting plastics and give two examples.

Solution :Thermosetting plastics are the plastics which on heating in a mould, become infusible and FORM an insoluble hard mass DUE to extensive cross-linking between different CHAINS FORMING three-dimensional network of bonds and cannot be softened again. Hence, they cannot be used again and again. Two common examples of thermosetting plastics are BAKELITE and terylene.
