If TWO similar PLATES , each of area A , have surface charge densities `+sigma` and `-sigma` and are SEPARATED by a distance d in air , then the electric field at any point between the plates `VECE = vecE_(1) + vecE_(2) = (sigma)/(2 in_(0)) + (sigma)/(2 in_(0)) = (sigma)/(in_(0))` towards plate 2. |
