The product roadmap is a high-level summary that charts out the vision and direction of the product that we are developing over time. A product roadmap describes why and what is getting built and it is a plan for executing the product strategy. 

The product roadmap is created to ACHIEVE goals as below: 

  1. Defines the concept and strategy 
  2. Provides a GUIDING document for accomplishing the strategic GOAL 
  3. It helps the internal stakeholders to be aligned 
  4. Expedites discussion of opportunities and scenario planning 
  5. Helps in communicating with external stakeholders, including customers
