This means that 120 is 50% of 240. Let us try another one. Assume the 1st quantity is 73, and the SECOND quantity is 365. We form a fraction = 73/365. We multiply it by 100 = 73/365 x 100= 20%. Hence, 73 is 20% of 365. Now, one more... Assume the 1st quantity to be 500, and the 2nd quantity to be 10,000. So let us form a fraction = 500/10000. We multiply by 100 = 500/10000 x 100 = 5. Thus, 500 is 5% of 10,000. |
