1.

Fluorine cannot be prepared by chemical oxidation of F^(-) ion-explain.

Answer»

Solution :Fluorine is the smallest halogen with the HIGHEST electronegativity and so `F^(-)` is very stable. Hence, it is impossible for any oxidising AGENT to REMOVE an ELECTRON from `F^(-)` ion and liberate F-atom (or `F_(2)` MOLECULE). Therefore, `F_(2)` cannot be prepared by chemical oxidation of `F^(-)` ion.
