Answer» Solution :(i) Add Tollens. REAGENT. Propanal `(CH_(3)CH_(2)CHO)` will GIVE silver mirror WHEREAS propanone `(CH_(3)COCH_(3))` will not react. (ii) Add `NaHCO_(3)` solution, BENZALDEHYDE `(C_(6)H_(5)CHO)` will not react whereas benzoic acid `(C_(6)H_(5)CHO)` will give brisk ettervescence DUE to `CO_(2)`.
