In amicelle, polar orionic heads form an outer shell in contact with water, while non polar tails are sequestered in the interior. The dissolution of bilayer membranes is usually studied in an excess of solvent, either water or an electrolyte solution, starting from an aqueous dispersion of thelamellarphase in the form of liposomes (or vesicles), and ending with mixedmicellesbelonging to the L1phase. |
