Give the decreasing order of ease of decarboxylation of the following acids on heating with sodalime,

Answer»

Solution :CARBOXYLIC acid forms Na or K or calcium carboxylate salts `(RCOO^(-))` which lose `CO_(2)` to form R (carbanion). More STABLE the carbanion formed, more readily the RESPECTIVE compound is formed. EWG [(-) or (-R) stabilises the carbanion.
