1.

Give the reason for the twinkling effect of stars.

Answer»

Solution :Light from STAR undergoes REFRACTION continuously before it REACHES earth. DUE to this, the apparent position of the star is slightly different from its actual position. The apparent position varies due to the change in temperature and density of atmospheric layers. The fluctuating apparent position of the star GIVES rise to twinkling effect.
