Answer»

Solution

Let C.P. of article = RS. $100x$

=> MARKED price = $\frac{125}{100} \TIMES 100x = 125x$

=> Selling price after offering 6 % discount = Rs. 10,340

=> $\frac{94}{100} \times 125x = 10340$

=> $\frac{47}{2} \times 5X = 10340$

=> $x = \frac{10340 \times 2}{47 \times 5}$

=> $x = \frac{440}{5} = 88$

$\therefore$ = C.P. = $100 \times 88$ = Rs. $8,800$
