Answer» SOLUTION :When an alkyl BENZENE is heated with strong oxidizing asgents likeacidic or alkline `KMnO_(4)` or acidified `K_(2)Cr_(2)O_(7)`, etc. gives aromatic carboxyllic acid. The alkyl SIDE chain gets oxidised to `-COOH` group irrespective of the size of the chain.
